Lilies are among the oldest cultivated plants. In Asia Minor, during the 2nd millennium BC, the bulb of the Madonna lily was grown for use in a medicinal ointment. Tiger lilies are native to the Northern Hemisphere where they are prized as ornamental plants. The Tiger lilies distinctive open blooms and unusually narrow leaves are artfully arranged by Nicola Slaney creating a softly flowing design.
