Tocco Terra Pottery
Tocco Terra means "To Touch the Earth." Designed & handmade by Veronica DeLay. Adorned with swirls, vines, birds, berries & poppies, this beautiful line was featured in the May 2007 issue of House Beautiful. Reminiscent of the European countryside, the colorways mix & match or stand alone to set a distinctive table.
Veronica's attraction to old world imagery and design influenced the choice of colors and patterns, from Italian Maiolica and rich French glazes to Renaissance prints, tiles and textiles. She captures their essence in simple lines and brushstrokes. Delicate vines with Berry highlights trace the edges of each piece, with Bird & Poppy accents. The mahogany colored earthenware clay creates a lively contrast with the Yellow, Green & White colorways.
The shape of the mug feels so comforting held in your two hands. Imagine hugging your soup or hot chocolate on a cold day. There is a graceful sophistication to the curves of each piece & the rich, saturated colors bring life to your table. There's something about it that makes me smile. I know it's not Celtic, but I HAD to HAVE it!
Veronica likes the birds to have their own character, so she paints them in both directions and different positions.
