The Great Kilt
This
garment goes by many names: Great Kilt, Feileadh Mor, Breacan Feile,
Big Kilt, Belted Plaid.
Essentially,
it is just a length of double-width tartan. The length can vary
from 4.5 to 9 yards, but 6 or 7 yards is the most popular choice.
The Great Kilt shown here is 7 yards.
Light or Medium Weight tartans are best for the Great Kilt.
